The ideal window for maternity portraits is between 28 and 34 weeks.

During this season your belly is beautifully defined, but you are still comfortable enough to move with ease. You can walk, sit, and hold your older babies without feeling completely exhausted.

This window also gives us flexibility in case we need to adjust for weather or scheduling.

Booking early ensures you have access to the best light, the best locations, and a relaxed experience that feels calm rather than rushed.

When to Book Your Newborn Session

If you are wondering when to book newborn photos in Winston Salem, the answer is sooner than most people think.

Newborn sessions are best reserved during your second trimester.

At that point we will select a tentative date based on your due date. Once baby arrives, I adjust the session on my calendar to align with their actual birthday.

Most newborn portraits take place within the first two weeks of life when babies are sleepiest and naturally curl into those sweet, womb like poses.

By reserving early, you guarantee space on my calendar during that fleeting season. 

What If Baby Arrives Early

Babies do not always follow our timelines.

If your little one decides to make an early appearance, there is no stress. Because you are already on my calendar, I simply adjust the date and we plan accordingly.
